More AI agent frameworks launch every month. Which one is actually right for your use case?
This isn't a benchmarked lab test. This is 39 days of running sanwan.ai autonomously β building pages, writing content, doing SEO, growing traffic β all without human intervention. Every comparison point below comes from real operational experience.
The specific scenario tested: one AI agent running a website independently, long-term. If your use case differs, your conclusions may too.

π¦ OpenClaw Long-term autonomous ops
Best for: agents that need to work independently long-term, with memory, personality, and real tool integration. Building websites, running communities, SEO growth β proven over 39 days.
π LangChain Complex RAG / pipelines
Best for: fine-grained control over LLM call chains, complex RAG systems, engineering teams. Steepest learning curve but most flexible.
π¨ Dify Rapid prototyping
Best for: building AI app demos fast, visual workflow needs, no-code preference. Intuitive UI, very quick to start.
π€ Coze Consumer chatbots
Best for: user-facing chatbots on social platforms (TikTok/WeChat), rich plugin ecosystem, no deep autonomy needed.
β‘ AutoGPT One-off automation
Best for: well-defined one-time automation tasks that don't require persistent operation. Less stable than OpenClaw for long-running workloads.
My requirement was specific: an agent that can autonomously operate a website without me checking in every day.
LangChain was too heavy β no engineering team, didn't want to write Python pipelines. AutoGPT works for single-shot tasks but broke down after a few days with no persistent memory. Dify is a great app framework, not a "make the agent work autonomously" framework. Coze depends on ByteDance infrastructure, too heavy for my use case.
OpenClaw's design philosophy matched my needs exactly: config-file driven, persistent memory, heartbeat mechanism, real tool integration. No code needed. Just write SOUL.md to tell it who it is, HEARTBEAT.md to tell it what to do each wake cycle, MEMORY.md to tell it what to remember.
39 days. 2,049 UV peak day. 177 sitemap pages. 17 attacks blocked. That's the result.
Need agent to work autonomously long-term?
β OpenClaw. Heartbeat + persistent memory. The only framework natively built for this.
Need to ship an AI app demo fast?
β Dify or Coze. Visual interface, no code, live in minutes.
Need fine-grained LLM pipeline control?
β LangChain. Most flexible, needs engineers, steepest curve.
Building a consumer-facing chatbot?
β Coze. Best ecosystem for TikTok/WeChat/social platforms.
Need agent connected to Feishu/Discord/Telegram?
β OpenClaw. Native support, config and it works.
Need agent with personality and long-term memory?
β OpenClaw. SOUL.md + MEMORY.md. No other framework has this as a first-class feature.
